Down Syndrome Louth Meath explore mixed-medium arts at Solstice

Solstice Arts Centre is delighted to support Down Syndrome Louth Meath Branch in the development of an explorative mixed medium arts programme for their teenage and adult members.

Aimed at harnessing the power of creativity of their members, this Arts Programme explores the skills and abilities of young people with intellectual disabilities.

Using the Solstice studio space over 10 weeks from mid-May 2024, participants are developing a creative body of work with Ukrainian artist Irina Senenuk and experienced facilitator, Cara Morgan. Exploring the landscape and natural beauty of our county, participants are using a wide range of artistic techniques and materials, channelling their creativity and artistic diversity while learning new skills through hands-on making and self-expression through art.

Helping to instigate social change and undo stereotypes, this project also aims to provide great joy and pride to all involved.
