Selma Daniel

Selma Daniel is a choreographer/director and an associate artist with Solstice Arts Centre from 2020 – present. 

Spanning over 25 years of dance experience as a performer and maker, in 2013 Selma began to focus her work into creating meaningful dance production to young audiences. 

Selma’s work had been extensively toured in venues, schools, and libraries across Ireland as well as internationally including NYC, USA and Shanghai, China. Selma had been commissioned by Solstice, Meath Arts Office under the Local Live Performance Scheme, South Dublin Arts Office, and the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media. 

Recent works include Befriending My Monster at First Fortnight 2024;  ‘moving words’ - Halloween Edition at Irish Arts Centre New York City;  AdoleTA! (national tour, Ireland, 2023; Shanghai, China, 2021); 

In partnership with Solstice, Selma created a program called Meath Move, an initiative to bring the community together through a series of opportunities for everyone from pre-school children to professional artists. 

In 2013 Selma graduated  with a Master of Arts Second Class Honours Grade I in contemporary Dance Performance from University of Limerick. She is currently studying a Postgrad in Creative Arts Management at University of Galway. 

Previously in her carrier Selma has performed throughout Brazil, Japan, Europe, and America.
