Tom Moran

Tom Moran is a writer-performer from Dublin, Ireland. In 2022, Tom's solo show, Tom Moran is a Big Fat Filthy Disgusting Liar, premiered at the Dublin Fringe Festival where it won the Best New Writing Award from Olivier Award Winning theatre company, Fishamble. Following its sold-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe, the play was picked up by The Abbey Theatre who co-produced an eight week run of the play at Ireland's national theatre followed by an Irish tour. Later in 2024, the play is due to travel to both Sydney and Melbourne Fringe.
The play has also been optioned by Deadpan Pictures where Tom is currently developing it for the TV comedy-drama space as supported by Screen Ireland. In addition to this, Tom is developing, The Knocks, a scathing family drama set in the world of Gaelic football with Tom Sherry at Headline Pictures.
Onscreen, Tom recently starred in The Christmas Break, a romantic comedy feature film produced by Samson Films and the BBC. In The Arts Review's end of year recap, Tom was credited alongside Gabriel Byrne, Robert Sheehan, Brendan Coyle, Andrew Bennet and Stanley Townsend with "One of the most outstanding performances of 2022".
Tom's other recent credits include; Staging The Treaty (Anú Productions), Vikings (Octagon Films) and King Lear (The Mill Theatre). Tom is also the creator and host of Personality Bingo, a podcast where previous guests include Paul Mescal, Danielle Galligan, Emmet Kirwan, India Mullen and Marina Carr.
In 2023, Tom was awarded the prestigious Next Generation Award by the Irish Arts Council and is currently an Associate Artist with the Solstice Theatre.
