This is a school workshop.
Responding to the artworks in our gallery created by local artist Lesley-Ann O’Connell, join her in this spontaneous, hands-on workshop and make colourful, energetic imagery. Exploring the expressive possibilities of mark making, watercolour, collage and framing, Lesley-Ann will share her art making techniques. Playing with abstraction, pupils will create layers of colour, marks and pattern, connecting to self-expression through drawing, 2D construction, paint and colour as well as critical and visual thinking.
Lesley-Ann O’Connell is an artist living and working in County Meath. Graduating with a Bachelors and a Masters in Fine Art Painting from NCAD in 2008 and 2014, O’Connell is represented by Kevin Kavanagh Gallery and completed her first residency with Joya: arte + ecología / AiR, Almeria, Spain (2023).
Participating in group shows since 2008, solo-exhibitions include Yellow, Pink and Blue Horizon (2022) and Midnight Swim (2019), Kevin Kavanagh Gallery; Surface in Motion (2015), Pallas Projects/Studios.
